You get in observatory and the first thing you see is a great  Faulcault pendulum designed by the French physicist Léon Foucault.  One of the largest of such devices in the world. This elegant scientific instrument demonstrates the Earth’s rotation.
It swings in a constant direction while the Earth turns beneath it.  The pendulum knocks over pegs set up in the pendulum pit and indicates the progress of rotation.

There was a guide who told as how it works:)

Then we explored all halls. There are a lot of exhibits in every hall!!!

I liked “The Wilder Hall of the Eye”. Here you can see the progress of human observation of the sky and the tools used for that exploration.

Near the hall is one more extraordinary building – the Broad. Modern art museum with a honeycomb-like facade or I would rather say: grater-like facade 🙂
