Day 9. Almería. National park Sierra Nevada. Granada.

We are in a Almería city! We came to the Plaza de las Velas to take a shot with this “tomato”sign:)

No time for a city walk, we have great plans for today. Tasty breakfast and escape this city in the morning.

Life is good! Plan for today – let’s roll mountains!

Always remember – if you are heading to the high mountains – prepare an appropriate clothes!! It was so great weather, so worm in the morning, but in an hour we stopped to dress up into our worm clothes :))

That is the moment when you are not hurry and you have no destination point.. You just brap for a brap!! And enjoy the moment!!

We stopped in a super small cities in the mountains to feel local life ))

It is about 5 degrees Celsius. We are lucky and the weather is really cool to ride a bike in mountains and enjoy these beautiful views!!

There are always someone who wants to make new friends)) local dogs and foxes ) so always be careful on the road!!

You can always rest, refuel and eat something in a small towns on a road.

Generally, it wasn’t so easy to find a lunch place. A lot of small cafes are closed (no idea why – kinda, not a high season? Too late to eat a breakfast and too early for a lunch?) At the same time it wasn’t so difficult – Passing few towns and we founded nice eating spot:) and surprise!! We managed to pay with credit card in the mountains for our lunch!! )))

We stop on small vista points to relax, smell blooming trees and make some shots!!

The sceneries along our road are so breathtaking!! We enjoyed silence!

A fabulous mountain ride of 222km from Almeria to Granada!! Huge thanks to https://motorcycle-diaries.com/ portal for hosting tons of most spectacular roads in the world for motorcycles!!

We are in the marvel city Granada, the architecture gem of Andalucia!!

We started our acquaintance with historic place in Granada – the district of Albaycin.

Albaycin is located on the hill, so you need to walk for a bit.

Here you can enjoy a great view of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada mountains, probably the best view point in the city! Plus a street musicians will fulfill the bouquet!!

Get lost on narrow streets with Arab white painted houses ))

Granada’s colorful “Gypsy quarter” on the Sacromonte. It is really unbelievable and so fantastic. Artistic Gypsy homes! The walls are really superb and deserve a close look!

With plenty of cosy cafes! Remember that if you are ordering drink – you will pay only for a drink and will get your tapas for free))

By the little river called Darro there is a wonderful and romantic street. Take a leisure walk here, besides these renaissance buildings and old town walls.

Enjoy the view of Alhambra palace with Generalife gardens at the top. (we decided to visit it tomorrow in the morning)

We fall in love with every nook and cranny of this city!!

Last point of interest for today is Royal Chappell – a Gothic style mausoleum!! and  Spain’s second largest cathedral. The Cathedral de Granada with intriguing mixture of styles: Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance!! All in one!!
