Padua is on our way, so we can’t miss this city. I already know what I wanna to see here 🙂 so it won’t take a lot of time!
Prato della Valle is one of Padua’s landmarks!
It is one of the biggest square in Europe! Let’s go!
It is surrounded by a double row of statues.
All of the statues are labeled, so you can find a name you may know – famous Paduan figures from the past.
or just sit, relax and enjoy your day!
Standout monument in the city is basilica di San Antonio.
The architecture of the building is a mix of different styles, from Romanesque to Byzantine! Eight different domes and towers on the outside. If you’ll go inside you will find the relics of St. Anthony, as well as, a magnificent reliefs by Renaissance master Donatello!
To see all of Padua in an easy and affordable way you can take the hop on-hop off bus 🙂
but we’ll walk a bit around the city and will proceed to the next trip stop – Venice
Mestre is “mainland Venice.” If you are short on traveling budget the optimal option for you is to stay in Mestre area. The continental part of Venice. In order to get to central Venice you’ll need to cross the Liberty Bridge by car or train.
We stayed here. A nice and budget hotel..Google maps
Five minutes walk away from the hotel is a train station where you can buy a ticket. One way ticket is 1,30 euro per person 🙂 !
Today we have no plans, so we just wandering around 🙂
Exploring the canals!
Taking a lot of pictures :)) Ehhhh, it’s my obsession:)
Just standing on a bridge and trying to absorb an atmosphere of this incredible city)
Ohh, these narrow streets….I’ll miss them!:)
Of cause you can’t imagine Venice without beautiful masks! just try 🙂 or buy:)
if you have an opportunity to see Venice at night – do it! It’s really different!
Let’s have a dinner in front of Rialto bridge, probably the most famous bridge here:) and let’s rise a glass:) Cheers!
Some classic places to visit at the end of the day. We are on Piazza San Marco
Probably the most popular building in Venice is St. Mark’s Basilica. It’s a great artwork, just admire this Italian Byzantine architecture!
Venice is small enough that you can walk back and forth it in several hours. It’s magnificent at day. But! Venice is even more spectacular at night!
Just keep watching the gondolas and vaporettos travel up and down the canals…
So mesmerizing!
Tomorrow will be new day and new emotions:)
See you tomorrow 🙂
