Yep, I came here, to say “Hi” to the world wide known fairy tale writer. I grew up on his ferry tales!

Here on the H.C. Andersens Boulervard, near the City Hall square you can find his large statue, by the way, he is looking at the amusement park that inspired some of his stories 🙂

On the other side of the street you can find it. The second oldest Amusement Park in the world!!! It’s Tivoli! If you have spare time, visit it! There is something for everyone, not only for children 🙂

This place is more than a theme park. It’s huge park with flowers, small animals farms, different decorations, souvenir shops, cafes….and of cause a lot of rides and amusements. Yep, it’s not cheap at all, but it worth it!

It’s not a secret that I like palaces and great architecture in general, so here is one more European jewel of a palace I’ve visited:) It’s Christiansborg Palace! It was and still continues to be important to the Danish royal family nowadays. The interiors are opulent, but even if you won’t visit it inside, architecture and nearby areas are very beautiful.

If you like palaces, don’t miss the Amalienborg and it’s amazing square. Here you can watch the changing of the guards or just stroll around, enjoy graceful gardens and fountain next to the palace.

One more splendid historical building on our way is The Royal Danish Theater! You can find it on the King’s New Square.

Once it was the theater of the king, but now is the theater of the country:) It presents opera, ballet and classical music concerts.

One more very popular place to visit is the 36 meter high Round Tower with lovely views from the top! Once it was built as an observatory and in the winter months it’s still used as observatory nowadays, so it’s really the oldest functioning observatory in Europe 🙂

Mostly tourists all year long are coming here to see magnificent Copenhagen skyline, so walk up the spiral ramp and enjoy the 360 degrees views to the city, as well you can visit astronomical exhibition in the observatory on your way 🙂

Must see place is Nyhavn! Yes, it’s very popular, so you’ll find here a lot of tourists, especially on a sunny days:)

Colorful historical buildings (dating to the 1600s and 1700s), boats, a lot of cafes, bars, restaurants with outdoor seating. All this you’ll find on this magical waterfront street in the heart of the city. Fantastic place to stroll, feel the breeze of the sea from the harbor, take some classical photos from Copenhagen or start a boat tour:)

Here we go!.. to see the iconic symbol of Copenhagen! Yep, it’s H. Ch. Anderson’s famous The Little Mermaid, the mermaid who once came up out of the depths of the sea because she’d fallen in love with a prince.

You can find it a bit out of the city center sitting on a rock next to the Langelinie promenade. Yep, it’s a bit smaller than I had expected, but our walk to the statue is so pleasant, cause the scenery around is very nice: water, a lot of greenery…

During our walk to the iconic mermaid I fall in love with this fountain – Gefion Fountain. It really very impressive. Norse goddess Gefion, who turned her sons into bulls so they, can plow the territory for their kingdom!

I really recommend yo to visit it on your way. Yes, it’s a bit far away from the city center, but trust me it will be very pleasant walk.

One more very lovely, quite place to stroll, to catch the sunset or just to chill in the evening is right in the middle of the city. It’s very peaceful park with benches, small lake with birds and planetarium near it! Planetarium is mostly aimed at school age kids, but if you are interested in science, it’a a great place to visit!
