Barcelona for me is a city of incredible architecture!! So today we are enjoying it!!
La Sagrada Família is one of the most inspiring building in Barcelona. A large but still unfinished church. It was designed by famous architect Antoni Gaudí !
We get here by metro. It was really quick ride. The metropolitan in Barcelona is very comfortable way to get to the place you need:)
We haven’t bought tickets in advance and there is a huge queue in front of church. If you wanna to get inside I really advise you to buy entrance tickets before you come here. (Basic ticket is 15 euro). We just walked around. 🙂
It is quite hot here in summer. Yeahh, sunglasses, hat, a bottle of water in your bag and comfortable shoes are a must in Barcelona. 🙂 You can always refresh yourself and enjoy the view. Hence one more Cola for me 🙂 in front of this amazing building!
Let’s move to the next Gaudí architectual work – the one more famous tourist destination in Barcelona. Park Güell!! (you can even walk – it about 30 min from La Sagrada Família 🙂
Here is quite busy traffic if you wanna get here by car:)
The park is free for all but if you wanna visit the Monumental zone you would need to buy a ticket and be on time! As it is restricted to 400 visitors in one time in this area.
So buy your ticket the day before!!! here you can do it link. Because you can come and there will be no tickets for this day. 🙂 You will enjoy only park. In general, for the first time – its Okey. 🙂 You can see everything but can’t touch these marvelous shapes and colors. 🙂
There are some geocaches too. ) So I did it!! It’s my first one in Barcelona))
We are ready to explore more… 30 min to go to the next great place!
Here is the street view we were walking 🙂 Isn’t it nice?
Here we are!!! The magic Casa Milà! So unusual design! It was built by using a structure of columns and floors free of load bearing walls.
Barcelona has really magic architecture! Even Versace building is unbelievable, modern and stylish. 🙂 (opposite the Casa Milà)
On the same street, 5 min to go is my favorite one – Casa Batlló. The true masterpiece of art!!! The details of this building show Gaudí at his best.
Some shops on the street with variety of different cats:)
One more thing I’ve done before my flight to Barcelona – I purchased a free tickets to Picasso museum! Yeah, you can visit it for free on special days. You need to book your free ticket 4 days before. Look here to see more about the free of charge time slots link.
You are not allowed to take photos inside, so sorry no photos. 😉 You need to enjoy it by yourselves!
Every small cafe, restaurants are full of traditional drink – Sangria. So it was not so easy to find my favorite “Sex on the beach”. But I’ve done it 🙂 American style cafe 🙂
We are full of impressions and now we just walking in a city without any plan. 🙂 Here is the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and a quenchless (ethernal) flame in front of it.
One more thing I wanna do is to visit local aquarium. But be have no time 😦 so near it there are 2 more interesting places. The first one is surrealist sculpture called La cara de Barcelona (the head of Barcelona)
and not so far the second one – the Gambrinus Lobster Statue. The 10 m long smiling lobster is impressive and cute 🙂
On our way home one more interesting burger house 🙂 “Pim Pam” 🙂 The name makes me smile:)))
Tomorrow will be new day and new emotions:)
See you tomorrow 🙂
The journey to be continued…
Don’t sit at home. Travel! Travel with me! 🙂 Meaww!
