It’s summer 2011 and I have a great opportunity to combine my studies and travelling 🙂
I’m in a city with great history and amazing classical architecture this time. Here the river flows through the center, it’s a nice spot for gorgeous photos to make…
Yeahhhh, I’m in Prague. I need to study hard, but still will have some free time to explore city
So, let me share Prague through my eyes 🙂
So, we are in the center, let’s walk around and discover spots of interest! Prague is very walk-able, really very pedestrian-friendly city. A lot of touristic attractions are very close each to other, so it’s really comfortable to walk.
This huge green dome and the bell tower belongs to one of the most famous churches in Prague – St. Nicholas Church.
The construction took about one hundred years, 3 generations of great Baroque architects worked hard, so it’s really one of central Europe’s finest baroque buildings! It’s possible to visit it and even climb up bell tower to get splendid old city views!
Here is one more iconic building in the city and the largest museum in the Czech Republic – The National Museum. Magnificent architecture! You can find this imposing building at the top of Wenceslas Square.
If you wanna to admire more and more gorgeous architecture I advise you to walk through the old Town. The historic center of Prague is full with Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Rococo… architecture. Crowds of tourists, beautiful architecture, so vibrant atmosphere.
Narrow cobble stoned streets opens up onto spectacular squares. This part of the city has fairy tail charm, I’m really walking trough with romantic mood 🙂
There are so many impressive monuments along my stroll. This Neo-Renaissance beautiful building is Rudolfinum, here you can find Czech Philharmonic and contemporary art gallery. I can’t stop to appreciate the true charm of the city.
Of cause absolute must do in Prague is a stroll across magnificent Charles bridge! Here is amazing Gothic tower – gates near the entrance to the Charles Bridge.
Charles Bridge is one of the most recognizable old bridges in Europe. More than 500 metres across the Vltava river with 32 points of interest on it, but don’t forget to stop and enjoy spectacular views down the river.
Yeahh, sometimes the best things during your travelling you can get for free 🙂
So, simply walk across the bridge and enjoy fine old baroque statues. Here you’ll find statues of saints and religious scenes. Ones, it was like a secret plan that these statues will make people think more about church and get them back into the church.
If you wanna return to Prague plus good luck just rub the special place at the base of the statue.
Continuing my stroll along the river, some beautiful stretch of greenery on my way 🙂
Walking is nice, but can you imagine Prague from a different perspective? I would really like to take a water cruise, if I had more time. It would be very unique experience, 100% will do it next time 🙂
Prague is full of historic attraction, but if you wanna to see something controversial, here you are – modern outstanding architecture! These two adjoining towers are so called “Dancing house”.
One more day in Prague and new emotions! Today we are visiting the Palace Gardens besides Prague Castle.
It’s so quiet place, full of history, amazing panoramas and beautiful nature!
Wanna great shots like a postcard image of Prague? Visit it!
You will get really unforgettable view of the city!
Grab something to eat or drink and enjoy the splendid views or just catch the sun like me:)
Ohhhh, there is a lot to love about this city.
Yap, sometimes I do crazy things, not common for me 🙂 Let’s get funny caricature of me 🙂 Here are some caricature artists working on the Charles bridge!
One more majestic neo-Renaissance building I can’t miss to share with you:) It’s golden roof is awesome, it’s one of the most important cultural institutions in Prague – National Theater.
Ok, ok, enough about architecture, let’s remember that Czechs claims to have the best beer in the world and so let’s test their claim. Ok, honestly I’m not a beer person at all, but to be in Prague and not to taste the beer would be hmmmm, how it better to say – Shame on me :))
You can find a lot of traditional Czech pubs and restaurants all over the Prague and some have really fantastic views of the river, but my friends decided to rock today in a hard rock cafe 🙂
Some memory shots about friendship:) Colleague, great person and friend in crime 🙂
Travelling always give you an opportunity to make new friend and share great moments with the old ones 🙂
Happy us heading to our hotel by tube at night, some hours later will’be in Latvia again, but right now we are smiling in a Prague 🙂
The end of this story 🙂
Tomorrow will be new day and new emotions:)
See you tomorrow 🙂
Don’t sit at home. Travel! Travel with me! 🙂 Meaww!
