We reached Montmartre. Here is popular Sacré-Cœur Basilica, located at the highest point in the city, right in the middle of Montmartre. It’s one of the landmarks of Paris, very nice basilica built from white stone and fully functional Roman Catholic basilica nowadays, so you can visit it!

You’ll find glorious mosaics inside, which are some of the nicest you can find in Europe!

Spend your time on the terrace in front of the basilica, admire spectacular views of Paris. Even locals come here to watch the sunset, chat and spend their evenings. Don’t miss this place!

Let’s explore charming Montmartre!

For me it’s Mecca of art. Dalí, van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Henri de Toulouse – Lautrec… have all worked in or around the Montmartre area during their lives. Even today this area still attracts people of art.

Plenty of small winding cobblestone streets and pedestrian staircases lead you to the hidden gems: art outdoor cafes, galleries, small souvenir shops, cute restaurants, old vintage stores…

The neighborhood is located on a hill, so you can enjoy amazing views of Paris. The streets are quiet and beautiful to wander around and find some hidden art gems 🙂

I really enjoyed our walk around without real destination. Montmartre is very a special place indeed! It’s really full of charm and a good opportunity to see real Parisian houses as well 🙂

Do you know, that there were 12 windmills that dotted the hill of Montmartre in the mid-18th century? This one on the photo is one of just two remaining today. It’s Le Moulin Radet.

It’s getting dark, so it’s perfect time to go…. – Where?

– Of cause to the place, where Cancan was born, wide and colorful skirts swung into the air, legs were shown and absent was everywhere around 🙂 !

Yeahh, “seedy” district of Paris –  Pigalle is calling for us :). You can find famous cabaret Moulin Rouge on Boulevard de Clichy. Tickets start at around 100 EUR per person for spectacular cabaret shows and almost always are sold out, so you should book ahead online as early as possible 🙂

If you’re on a budget, just skip the show and enjoy the neighborhood. The street is full with sex shops and adult stores.

When you wonder about Paris, you’ll think about the Eiffel tower, small cobblestone streets, tiny and cute coffee shops and the smell of freshly – baked croissant smell in the air, but Paris is so varicolored, so everyone will find something for himself!

Yeah, parking in Paris is awful!!! All cars are a bit crashed 😦 So if you are renting a car, don’t skip to take full insurance and don’t park your car on the streets! yeah, paid parking is quite expensive but at least you’ll find your car safe 🙂

That’s all for today 🙂 We need to rest a bit 🙂
