It’s summer 2013 and we’ve booked our trip to Golden Sands!
It’s summer time! Bulgaria, here we come! We are ready to enjoy our holidays with our friend!
So, Golden Sands! It’s the largest resort on the Northern Black Sea coast and of cause famous for it’s beaches with golden sand 🙂
Girls are going to try some local wine (OMG, it’s sooooo cheap here!) and explore area near the hotel on the first evening:)
Yap, we tasted a lot of wine on our first day, so next day we are going to spend lazy on the beautiful beach! It’s very clean and full of sunbeds and umbrellas, you can rent them or use your own towel for free wherever you can find free space 🙂 Yap, swimming here is also very cool, cause the water in the sea is very clear and warm.
There are bars, cafes, shops …. on the long, long promenade near the sea. The best way to spent your evening is to walk along it!
Look, here is quite fancy restaurant and bar! Correctly on this ship! Yes, it’s more expensive than the other restaurants, but can you imagine the sea-view and the atmosphere!
Look at this shining promenade night view from a Ferris wheel! All attractions in Golden Sands are quite close to each other, it’s really nice!
Yes:) Here you can find the copy in scale 1:10 of the Eiffel Tower with a luxury café at 6 meters above the ground!
As you know, we can’t sit at the one place or lie on the beach more than one day! So, we found a lot of day-trips, excursions to interesting locations in the region!
Today we are going to visit a place called The Stone Desert!
What? Desert in the Europe? :)))
Yes, this place also known as the “Petrified Forest” or “Pobiti Kamani” and has a lot of sand dunes and natural rock formations on a total area of 13 km².
If you are looking for amazing landscapes – visit this nature phenomenon! Very mysterious place, looks like a fairy stone forest! Rocks have very interesting shapes 🙂
There is no correct answer what is it and why this place is here 🙂 Some scientists believe that the entire area was covered by water and coral complexes became petrified, others says that these limestone formations were formed from bubbling reefs that eroded over time.
Anyway! This place really worth a visit! We haven’t seen something similar before! It’s really amazing to walk near these weird stone columns, some of them are up to 7 meters height!
New day and new emotions! Today we are going to discover what this country is really like, some Bulgarian culture, traditions and authentic food!
We are visiting one of the houses in the small Bulgarian village, it’s located about 30 km away from Nessebar.
I never thought that I will have an opportunity to get married one more time! 🙂 BUT! Never say never 🙂
Here we are – it’s our Bulgarian wedding on the photo below.
Look, here is authentic traditional groom’s costume!
And here is bride’s one 🙂 Is it cool? 🙂 It’s suits me :))
After the wedding ceremony, there is a tradition, that predict your’s first baby’s gender:) So, the bride and groom are coming outside a house and walking on the small path. There is a metal jar with the water on their way. They need to kick it with a foot and local old lady (visionary) predicts gender by the way the water spills on the ground.
Six years later this prediction came true 🙂
Happy just married couple 🙂
It’s really nice day trip, you can feel unique charm of the small village, the spirit of the traditions and try local food and homemade grape brandy:) plus enjoy the gorgeous scenery on your way to the village 🙂
Golden Sands has really good location, you can take day trips to historical Nessebar or modern Varna 🙂
Today we are going to visit Nessebar, one of Europe’s oldest towns.
The town was found by the Thracian civilization, developed by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines and the Ottomans. Can you image variety of cultural monuments you can discover here?
Thousand-year old history, thrilling views, sea food restaurants, souvenir shops, street artists, art galleries, small shopping bazaars. All you need for a perfect day!:)
Nessebar is in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Walk through the Old town, fill it’s atmosphere!
Here is all about history, small cobbled streets and quaint houses.
It’s very romantic town with coastal charm:) Definitely worth spending a day here! Just look at these spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Morning! Today we are going to take a half day trip to enjoy Kamchia River Nature Reserve! It’s a mini cruise on the boat, very picturesque views, but sometimes river bank are so inapproachable like you are in a jungles 🙂
We enjoyed it and saw a lot of turtles taking sun baths on our way 🙂
One more popular destination to go from Golden Sands is city Varna. It’s the third largest city in Bulgaria. However, we’ve visited only Varna’s dolphinarium 🙂
It was a nice show, dolphins are very smart and well trained.
They really are very cute and playful. So beautiful animals, but in such small tanks 😦
Yap!! Correctly 🙂 Our holiday wouldn’t be complete without a boat trip! Let’s spent one day lazily cruising along the coastline, relaxing, sipping local cold beer and having fun 🙂
Isn`t it the perfect way to spent half a day and improve our sun tan :)?
Beautiful panorama of the coast, pleasant sea breeze…..
…and hundreds of jellyfishes around us 🙂
We took a short ride on the small local panoramic open train from the marina through Golden Sands after the boat trip. It’s one more pleasant touristic attraction to do!
What to do on the last holiday’s day ?:)
It’s time for adrenaline-kicking swing!!! 🙂 cause it’s very windy today and the waves are sooooo incredible 🙂
Let’s enjoy some water attraction too 🙂 There are a lot of them on the beach!
I clearly remember that feeling, how we were trying to overcome waves to get to the floating banana boat 🙂
One more thing I wanna to say about holidays there – it’s really relatively cheap to eat and drink here! Food is very tasty as well as wine.
We’ve spend almost all our evenings sipping cocktails at a bars on the beach. A lot of offers are like 3 euros for 3 cocktails, are we in the heaven??? 🙂
It was week full of fun! Travel! Travel with friends!
Tomorrow will be new day and new emotions:)
See you tomorrow 🙂
Don’t sit at home. Travel! Travel with me! 🙂 Meaww!
