Greek islands. Day 1.

It’s August 2021 and it’s still Covid 19 pandemic all over the world but we decided to make yet another trip.

This time it will be one week yacht adventure around Greek islands! Less human contacts, more nature connection!

Let’s do it!IMG_20210828_075210

We came to Athens on Saturday (just to know: all charters are made from Saturday-to-Saturday :)).

We are 4 friends and one baby 1.7 year old, ready to start our adventures!

Unfortunately our adventures started with pretty regular drawback of all airlines, they managed to loose our friends’ luggage. It was quite surprising cause we had direct flight. Anyway, we required some extra time, not just for food shopping, but also to buy some clothes for them and our tiny crew member 🙂

So we find closest biggest shopping mole on Google Maps to our marine and took a taxi there! It was a bit challenging to buy food for us, cause we did’t know our route and when will be our first stop close to civilization 🙂

We decided to stock food for 2-3 days.

Finally we came to Alimos marine buy taxi a bit later then we’ve planned. And here I need to capture your attention on the fact you are in Greece. Hospitality of locals goes beyond any boundaries. The taxy driver discovered we lost our baggage agreed to give us a ride to shopping center and wait for us while we complete all shopping. We spent couple hours in a mall, had lunch, few more hours for girls addiction and grocery shop robbery. The local driver decided to wait for us to give us a final ride to the marina. basically he wasted a whole day for us by jeopardizing other potential customers only due to our case. Fantastic people! Of cause we expressed our thank you with huge tips. 🙂

We’ve booked our Bavaria 46 yacht in advanced via Click &Boat app. As it’s our first yachting experience, so we booked decided to have pro skipper too!

We’ve decided to eat our dinner, talk about our future plans with skipper in a small and cosy harbor’s cafe. Which was surprisingly affordable. You usually expect some cosmic prices in largest marina of Greece capital. But instead we had a delicious food for reasonable price!

We discovered that there are few options: to start journey on Saturday evening or to have a sleep on a yacht and start on Sunday morning 🙂 Of cause patience (read chill) is not our characteristics and we decided to move one right after dinner 🙂

Lucky us, our skipper is super-professional and enthusiastic guy with 50+ years experience, so it would be surprise for us – where we are in the morning 🙂

We started voyage after 8 p.m. Look so nice it’s when your are leaving marine in the evening! Night is inevitable but sea would not wait for you. It calls for an adventure!!! :))
