We can’t skip yet another popular tourist destination! The Loro Park! Very beautiful and well organized zoo, especially for families with kids. Visit here is a really enjoyable full-day out.
Entrance tickets for adults – 38 euro and for children – 26 euro. You can get discounts if you buy twin tickets for Siam Park (water park) at the same time 🙂
It’s quite large, so can take you all day to walk around and visit all shows.
There are 4 shows everyday running periodically throughout the day. Each show lasts around half an hour, so if you plan your visit well you can easily see them all: Orca show, Loro show (parrots), Dolphinarium and Sea lions.
We decided to start with Orca show!
They dance to the rhythm of the music and dive in the giant transparent tank, so you can see all underwater acrobatics. The jumps and tricks are so spectacular that several front rows spectators are usually splashed by water 🙂
Then we moved to Loro show! Loro Park is famous around the world for its impressive collection of exotic birds, the largest parrot reservation in the world, accommodating around 4,000 parrots!!!
Andrew was lucky and get an opportunity to be the part of the show!
The show was charming. Parrots are doing interesting tricks and flying above your had, it was so excited!
Next show is Sea lions. So spectacular jumps and dives!
By the way, do you know the difference between a sea lion and a seal? The secret is in their ears. While the seals do not have ears and can’t “walk”, sea lions have small ears and “walk” on land using their large flippers! 🙂
We skipped Dolpinarium, cause we saw some dolphin shows in other places. No rush! Let’s just walk around! The park is surrounded by pathways with lush vegetation where you can discover birds and animals from all over the world.
Here you will find a plenty of different animals, they have plenty of space to inhabit, everything is fancy and modern.
Wanna some gifts, snack or coffee? Here you are 🙂
They also have breeding programs and you can see how it’s happening! The aim of the Loro Park Foundation is the protection and conservation of endangered animals.
What’s else can amaze you? Shark tunnel! It will allow you to be face to face with the magical wild creatures that inhabit the oceans.
Discover more than 100 beautiful aquatic species hosted in 12 exhibitions at Aquarium.
Visit Antártida in Planet Penguin, the world’s largest penguinarium, which houses an iceberg with more than 200 penguins.
It’s snowy here! Fantastic, they have real winter there!
Loro Park has something for everybody. It’s a natural paradise!
It’s quite different fauna and the view from a car window here. This part of the island is soooo green!!!
We stopped for an evening walk and a dinner in Garachico. So spectacular small city.
It’s so unusual for us, this black color in the nature, but do you know why it’s so black here?
Montaña Negra erupted in 1706, spewing out rivers of lava that swept through the town to destroy the city and the harbor (it was Tenerife’s premier port)
Then Garachico also endured plagues of locusts, outbreaks of disease, fire and flooding, but they managed to survived! and all that made them stronger!
To pile on the irony, the lava that filled it’s harbor was transformed into attractive and unusual rock pools; It attracts so many tourists nowadays 🙂 Here are so picturesque plazas!
City itself is so clean and cosy with very friendly people!
Tomorrow will be new day and new emotions:)
See you tomorrow 🙂
Don’t sit at home. Travel! Travel with me! 🙂 Meaww!
Next day …Day 7. Last day on Tenerife.
Previous day …Day 5. Aloe park.
