Day 8. Kassiopi Castle and beaches.

It’s a good tradition to rent two wheels and get tan on our way:) while exploring the island!

Ready, steady, braap- braap!

Our first stop is a small fishing village Kassiopi.

We are ready to explore Kassiopi Castle. It was one of three Byzantine period castles that defended the island before the Venetian era.

The castle is a ruin nowadays and so there is little to look at, we just walked around the wall in a shade of olive trees, grabbed our geogache and enjoyed the sea view!

Two wheels always is another experience, best way to see the off-track interior of the island! Enjoying our ride!

Kassiopi has more than 1 beach, there are many around the coves as you walk to harbor. There is a small one with sandy beach, but we decide to visit pebbly beach – called Kalamionas beach with very nice small rocks 😉 water here is super blue and crystal clear, probably a nice place for snorkeling, but not for swimming 😉
